01 Only You : (Psalm 27:6, Psalm 97:11-12, Ephesians 2:4-5 )
This is a praise song, being sung by Gods followers amongst His followers. In other words, a congregation gathering together in agreement that God is the only thing worth praising. The song goes through a number of ideas that no matter what, its only God. That through God we are made alive and set free from the death that sin leads. This song also speaks out towards the negative criticisms received for being a christian, that “no matter what they think or say, its only You (God)”. The last line of both the verses goes “This is why we do the things we do.” This line is a reference to a change in living, putting down worldly pursuits, putting others first, loving and forgiving when we do not wish to, following Christ commandments from the new testament. God has given us life, so we follow in His ways.
