about

04 Pleased to Say 1/4 (Matthew 7:7)
This is the first song of the “Confusion Suite”, in which the album is named after. All together, there are four songs in an ABAB format. A call from a none believer, a response from a believer, then a realization from the non believer to a call from the believer(a gospel message). In this first song we first hear a pessimistic influenced lyric about how hard life can be and that people can conform to what the masses follow or convince themselves to be true in respect to how their feelings react. The second set of lyrics comes in to almost challenge that point of view, as well as one given by a christian. This idea comes from a point of view of someone who is tired of judgment and hypocrites from any teaching trying to decipher truth. This song is not meant to answer any questions, but ask them. What are we to do? I have an emptiness in my life, but how do I fill it? I hear and see both negatives and positives from any teachings, but what is right? Who lives correctly? Is there more to life? Is what I believe the truth, or am I falling in step?

lyrics

Pleased to say that life, is such a funny thing.
So hard to understand.
All of us like marching ants, one by one, we fall in step.
As we cling to, what we see as real, as our eyes lie to see what we feel.

Could you take it any other way?
Could you take it some other day?
The truth when its told to you, what are you going to do?
Here I am, I try so hard, to fit in, to belong.
It’s all that’s left of me, something to be freed.
But then again, what is real, what is not?
Everything around, can be turned around.
